Quite Christmas

Our Christmas was quite. We spent a lot of days in our pajamas, we played games, watched movies and had take out.  I was very much looking forward to Christmas Vacation.  Even more so than summer vacation.  Christmas vacation came with a break.  No packing lunches, no waking up baby from a nap because we had to be some where, no out the door early mornings, no hockey practices, no plans.  It was a nice break that we all needed.

Usually on Christmas morning we would have a big breakfast, eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast.  But earlier that week Terry and I decided not to do that this year. We decided to make it simply, toast and fruit.  This plan worked out very well this year, even more so than we could have imaged.  J woke up just after 3am. By 9am, Terry and I both had separate 1 1/2 hour naps.  J and Ri were still going strong.

 Christmas Day

The weather on Christmas Day was beautiful.  There was no snow, mild temperatures. One of the things I always wanted to do, was to go for a walk on Christmas Day.  This year, we got to do that.  We were little more prepared this year with our turkey, it wasn't frozen on Christmas Day.  So, the turkey went in the oven early and we went for a walk/bike ride.

Out in Nature, Christmas Day

We are back in the swing of things again.  Christmas Vacation is over. Kids are ending their second week back of school.  The kids had their first snow day on Wednesday. We are back in to hockey practice and J celebrated his 8th birthday.  I still have snow flakes on the living room ceiling, lights around the room and lights in the bathroom.  I may take them down at the end of the month.

Our Christmas was quite and low key, it was just what we needed.
